THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The day (Saturday) saw CPM State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan turning up with his responses on allegations against his son Binoy Kodiyeri.
Though Kodiyeri has rejected news reports that he may quit the party post, political observers still feel there are chances for someone replacing him as party State secretary. They say that just two persons can fit into that post.

One among them is P Jayarajan and the other is M A Baby. Though his defeat in Vadakara is a setback for the party, Jayarajan still enjoys people’s support in Kannur and Kozhikode. Moreover, leaders and people of Kannur are emotionally attached to him.

Jayarajan is also currently active in politics, despite his poll defaet. In Anthoor, he came out to resolve the party crisis though he is not the party state secretary. Jayarajan also doesn’t face any allegation related to financial irregularity.

The next possibility is for calm and composed M A Bay; his knowledge in arts, culture and philosophy is an added advantage. The political think-tanks believe that appointment of Baby can help party wriggle out of the present crisis.

Also, appointment of Baby can negate the allegation that post always stays with the Kannur lobby.
