binoy-kodiyeri

OSHIWARA: The family of the woman who levelled sexual abuse against Binoy Kodiyeri said they will hand over more evidences to the police. The family said they would appoint a new lawyer to strengthen the case. The new move is at a time when verdict on Binoy’s anticipatory bail plea will be pronounced by the Dindoshi Sessions Court in Mumbai later today.

The court adjourned hearing of Binoy's plea from last Friday to Monday. However, sessions judge M H Sheikh is on leave and so it was postponed to today. If the court denies anticipatory bail plea to Binoy, the decision of the Mumbai police is to arrest him. The prosecution will submit in the court the evidences revealed after hearing the argument on the bail plea. His argument was that there are contradictory statements on the woman’s complaint and so rape offence will not exist. The Mumbai police had issued a look out notice so that the accused will not leave the country. If he is not granted anticipatory bail, there are chances for him to flee abroad.

The woman, a native of Bihar had lodged a complaint against Binoy, son of CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, for sexual abuse. She had mentioned in the complaint that she has an eight-year-old son in that relationship.
