KOZHIKODE: A student jumped into a river from Pantheerankavu Arappuzha Bridge. The girl has been identified as Maneesh, daughter of Mukundan of Pantheerankavu. The incident happened at 11 am today.

The student’s bag and slippers have been obtained from the side of the river. Her relatives identified the things obtained.

As soon as the incident was noticed, locals and fire force began searching the area but could not find her. A lorry driver who passed that way put a rope for her, but she was not able to catch it, said eye witnesses.

The initial conclusion was that it was a suicide attempt. The student passed her plus two exam from Ramnattukara Seva Mandiram School last year.
