KOCHI: The crime branch Friday informed the court that they have not obtained any evidence to prove that the accidental death of violinist Balabhaskar has got any links with the gold smuggling. More details in connection with his death are being collected and along with that it is being examined whether his assets are misused by anyone, crime branch told the court.
Prakashan Thampy and Vishnu, accused in the gold smuggling case, were questioned in the death of the violinist. The crime branch said their driver Arjun’s criminal background is being examined. The investigating team told the court that they have asked national highway authority the details regarding the behaviour of the road on the day the accident happened and the KSEB about the road light.
The accident happened when Balabhaskar and his family were coming after a visiting a temple. His daughter Tejaswini died on the spot and the violinist succumbed to his injuries on October 2 in 2018. His wife Lakshmi and driver Arjun sustained injuries.
