Now, those who buy a new two-wheeler, be careful! You are eligible to get certain things for free from your dealer. This alert is from Kerala police.
The truth is that a buyer of a new vehicle is often unaware of the things they ought to receive from their dealer for free. Some don’t bother to complain even if they don’t get any one of the freebies.
It has been found in many cases that the customers don’t get even the helmet. In certain shops, only helmets are given free of cost and prices are charged for other things in the free-list.
The above alert has been issued by Kerala police on their Facebook page, pointing out the Transport Commissioner’s order. In the order, it is said that State transport officials need to register the new vehicles only after making sure that dealers have supplied the buyers with free helmets, as per Central Motor vehicle rules.
According to reports, the RTO even can exercise its rights to cancel the certificate of dealers if they don’t obey the rules. As per the act, a buyer is also eligible to get the number plate, rear view mirror, sari guard, and grab rail for pillion riders, without shelling out any money.
