KANNUR: Nine RSS and BJP activists were found guilty in the murder case of CPM activist K P Ravindran of Ambalakulangara at Kakkat. The verdict will be pronounced by Thalassery additional district sessions court soon.

Pavithran, Falgunan, K P Reghu, Sanal Prasad, P K Dineshan, Kottakka Shashi, Anil Kumar, Tharashiyil Suni and P V Ashokan are those found guilty. The quantum of sentence will be announced shortly.

Ravindran was murdered by RSS and BJP activists on April 6 in 2004. He died at Pariyaram Medical College Hospital after he was hit by iron rods on his head. It was found that he was attacked by the weapons kept at the store room of the eighth block of the jail.

Prisoners Raju of Valayam and Ragesh of Palakkad were also injured in the attack.
