THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Criticising Nirmala Sitaraman’s central budget, CM Pinarayi Vijayan said that the budget doesn’t show any interest towards the state. AIMS medical college was not approved this time also, which is unfortunate, he said. He also criticized the hike in petrol and diesel prices saying that it will inflate the price of goods.

CM Vijayan said that the centre remains tight-lipped about renovating waterways in the state even after speaking a lot about it. He also mentioned that only Rs 495 crore out of the approved Rs 660 crore was given for Cochin Shipyard.

The funds allowed for Cochin Port Trust was significantly reduced to 46 crore from 67 crore. Funds allocated for Rubber Board was also reduced. The centre also ignored the state’s request to extend the loan limit in light of the floods, he said. CM added that the centre has imposed an unbearable financial burden on the state through this budget.
