THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: State Chief Electoral Officer Tikaram Meena has said that the complaint given by BJP leader Kummanam Rajasekharan in connection with the assembly election in Vattiyoorkavu will not come in the way of by-election to be held there.

K Muraleedharan has resigned as Vattiyoorkavu MLA after he won the Parliament election.

The then BJP candidate of Vattiyoorkavu, Kummanam Rajasekharan, had moved court, stating that Muraleedharan had not disclosed the exact details of his assets at the time of filing the nomination

Meanwhile, uncertainty continues in the case of Manjeswaram by-election. The case given by BJP candidate Surendran is still under the consideration of the high court.

From Kerala, four MLAs had won the Lok Sabha election and it is their seats that have been left vacant, necessitating the by-election.

Besides this, the by-election will also be necessary in the two other constituencies, where the MLA have died.
