KILIMANOOR: Kilimanoor SI B K Arun, who had to face suspension from service after he assaulted a retired teacher, got the badge of honour for crime investigation the very next day.
The honour was received by a team of police officers for their excellence in the scientific investigation pertaining to the case number 302 / 2018 registered in Pallikkal police station. The case related to the murder of radio jockey Rajesh.
Arun was in the team that investigated the case and thus he also got the badge of honour for the investigation.
The investigation team comprised Kilimanoor CI V S Pradeep Kumar, former Varkala CI P V Rajesh Kumar, former Pallikkal SI Shyamji, Shadow Police SI Shiju K L Nair and Arun.
Radio Jockey Rajesh was murdered in 2018 at Madavoor in front of his own studio by a gang that had arrived in a car. The police had arrest all accused except the main accused using their expertise in the scientific investigation.
Though accused number one was identified, he is yet to be arrested as he had fled the country. Incidentally, Kilimanoor police station had received award for the most cleanly maintained police station, when Arun was the station SI.
