KOZHIKODE: After threatening the staff at gunpoint, three men escaped with gold from Shanthi Jewellery showroom at Omassery in Mukkam. The staff managed to catch one of the robbers while three fled from the spot. The robbers were from other states.

The incident was around 7.30 pm when the staff was about to close down the shop. They threatened the staff by pointing a gun and demanded gold. While the four men tried to leave the spot after grabbing what they could, some of the staff managed to overpower one of the robbers. Meanwhile, two of the staff were injured.

Preliminary assessments have revealed that the robbers took away around 15 gold bangles. Koduvally Police reached the spot. The robber caught by the staff was unconscious. He was taken to a hospital.
