THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following the untoward events that unfolded at Thiruvananthapuram University College, the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) has been receiving criticisms from all corners. Now, a college lecturer has come out with fresh allegations against the SFI.
Lissy Joseph, a lecturer at Govt. Polytechnic College Kalamassery, has lodged a complaint against the SFI at Kerala Gazetted Officers’ Association. According to her, the SFI leaders have been constantly pressurizing her over various issues.
Lissy has been serving as the convenor of the Boys Hostel for the last one year after many male lecturers refused to take up the post. According to her, though things went smooth in the initial months, the leaders of the federation got offended once she made it clear that former students won’t be allowed to enter the hostel premises. Since then, the federation has begun to attack her mentally by posting defaming posters and raising baseless allegations.
The lecturer further added that though there was an investigation against her following the complaint from a student, she was cleared of all the accusations as the hostel inmates had stood by her.
Lissy, who lives with her ailing husband in the college campus, believes that she has become the target of the SFI leadership ever since she prohibited some of their illicit activities.
