KOLLAM: With over five years left in his service, a professor at Karyavattom University College received retirement wishes from the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Sainudheen Pattazhy, a Zoology professor in Karyavattom University College and research writer, is confused whether the letter was sent from the CM’s office.
“Heard that you have retired from govt service. Thanking you for the service. You would have had good and bad experiences in your service. Hope the good outweighs the bad. You might have been blamed for taking humane, lawful stands for the good of the public. Some might have praised you, some might have blamed. Consider all of this as part of a democratic system. Retirement is not the end, but a start. Look around you, there’s a lot to do”, the letter from the CM reads.
Sainudheen who worked as an associate professor at Kollam S.N. College for several years joined the Zoology department of Karyavattom University College as an associate professor on April 17, 2019. In order to join the Karyavattom College, the professor had requested a release from his job at SN College. The CM might have misunderstood this request as retirement.
