NEW DELHI: Veteran Congress leader A K Antony has strongly criticised the SFI, the students’ organisation of the CPM, against the backdrop of the recent violent developments on the University campus in Thiruvananthapuram.

“What happened in the University campus recently was an incident that made literate Kerala hang its head in shame. There should be a judicial inquiry into all allegations including exam irregularities,” A K Antony demanded.

Antony said that even the credibility of the PSC had come to be questioned.

“The government says that an inquiry will be conducted but it seems that the hands of the police are tied. It should have called an all-party meeting before deciding on the criteria for the judicial inquiry. The KSU is on active strike and there is complete support of all Opposition parties to KSU president Abijith, who is on fast against the SFI,” he said.

Antony stated that “the SFI is the organisation that has killed the largest number of people and has made a call for maximum number murders”
