THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government is supporting left supporters attending organisational meet while on duty. The government released a special order for attending the three-day meeting of Kerala Secretariat Employees Union at the A K G Hall with salary. It was Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan who inaugurated the meeting. Officials who were on duty were seen in and out of the AKG Hall when the chief minister inaugurated the meet.
This chief minister had the other day told government employees to work at the time of work. He had directed officials not to participate in athapookkalam during Onam time and will not permit them to leave their job and go for other activities. The chief minister approved the demand of the left organisations to permit them to attend meet on working days. The government had issued an order on it. Principal secretary Biswanath Sinha had signed the order permitting officials to attend the meeting.
The order has mentioned that when officials are attending the meet from 10 am to 4.30 pm, work should not be affected. After punching in the morning, officers attend the meeting and punch again before returning home in the evening. The government said BJP and congress supporters will also be given leave with salary if applications are given.
