THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The knife used for stabbing Akhil Chandran of University College was recovered from the college trash. Main accused Sivarenjith showed it to the police. The police brought Sivarenjith and the second accused Nazeem to the college and took the evidence.
The two told police that they decided to suppress the opposing voices. Search is continuing to nab the rest of the accused. The UDF will meet the governor today seeking immediate intervention in PSC and irregularities in university exams.
Meantime, the CPM state secretariat will convene here today. The college issue will be a discussion in the meet. The state leadership assessed that there were lapses from CPM district leadership’s side in understanding the problems of the college and in controlling the SFI.
It has also been opined that if action had been taken when a student of the college attempted suicide, the present untoward incidents could have been avoided. State secretariat member Anathalavattom Anandan had pointed this in the district committee yesterday.
