Prem Nazir is one of the most remembered names in the Malayalam film industry.
Even after so many years, the title of ‘Evergreen Hero’ of Malayalam Cinema belongs to Nazir. When Malayalam cinema moved from Nazir to Mammootty and Mohanlal, the Nazir wave was not affected at all. Prem Nazir, the actor who has perfected over 1000 heroes in 40 years of acting, bid adieu from this world without fulfilling his dream. His dream was to do two films with Mohanlal and Mammootty. Nazir completed discussions on the script and entrusted Sreenivasan and Dennish Joseph for the remaining work. Sreenivasan was asked to write the script for Mohanlal’s film and Dennis Joseph on Mammootty’s film. Dennis Joseph shared his memories on Nazir in a note written for a media. Nazir got emotional when Dennis Joseph lovingly rejected the advance for the script. Even though I was not active in films then, new people like you are behaving in a good manner, I cannot forget my happiness, this was the response of the big person, said Dennis. But unfortunately, those films did not happen. Prem Nazir died within six months.
The great actor left us without fulfilling his dream of becoming a director, Dennis Joseph said in his memoir.
