The CPI marched to the DIG's office after alleging that Njarakkal circle inspector had taken biased action in the clash at Vypeen College. Almost 2000 activists including CPI district secretary attended the march. In between, the march turned violence and the police used force. Meantime, CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran said that he will respond after knowing the details of the police lathicharge.
A clash broke out between the SFI and the AISF in connection with ‘Freshers Day’ in the college. A dispute broke out after two second year students came to the college before the classes started. When CPI district secretary P Raju and his team were returning after visiting them, DYFI activists blocked them by keeping bikes in front of their car.
