THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The body of a missing woman was found buried in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday. The body has been identified to be that of Poovar native Rakhi. It was found at Thottamukku, Amboori near the house of her friend.

Rakhi had gone missing a month ago and her relatives had lodged a missing complaint with the police. In an investigation held, centred on her mobile phone, she was found to have been in frequent contact with Amboori native Akhil over the phone.

The police could crack the case of a missing woman only after a month-long search in the area since then. The police exhumed the body from Akhil’s house premises. However, they have not been able to find his whereabouts.

The relatives of Akhil, who is also a military man, said he is not in his hometown.
