KIZHAKKAMBALAM: A scooter-borne woman who had a narrow escape from an overspeeding private bus, chased it down and gave the driver a dressing-down on Wednesday.

As the locals and onlookers also chipped in, the driver turned defensive and finally apologised to the woman. This was something experienced by the woman, hailing from Kizhakkambalam. She was returning from work when the incident happened near Pallikkara Wonderla. The woman said she escaped from a big danger due to sheer luck.

The woman veered off the road and escaped from being crushed under the overspeeding bus. Within seconds, she regained her true self and chased down the bus at Pallikkara Market Road.

As the woman explained to the locals what had happened, they also backed her and raised voice for action against the driver. It was then that panchayat member T V Sasi reached the spot and got the driver apologise to the woman. After this, the tension eased and the woman ‘forgave’ the driver, saying that she won’t be giving any police complaint against the driver.
