THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: UDF’s secretariat blockade in protest against the stand taken by the government on various demands including the University College issue, has started. The blockade which started at 6 am will end at noon. The official inauguration of the blockade was inaugurated by opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala.

The demands voiced include a judicial inquiry into the incidents at the University College, CBI investigation into the PSC exam malpractices, control of price rise, unprecedented power tariff hike, sabotaging Karunya benevolent fund scheme and issues faced by non-resident Keralites.

The UDF is blocking the three gates except the front gate of the cantonment. Traffic in front of the secretariat is banned. Security has been beefed up in the city.
