THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The financial loss suffered by the canteen owner Dileep in the midst of Youth Congress protest in front of the Secretariat created a buzz in the media. Activists of the organization ate snacks from Dileep’s canteen and didn’t pay. When asked, Dileep was told that the money will be paid by ‘Annan’. Speaking to Kaumudy TV, Dileep said that he didn’t see any such person.
When Kaumudy published this news, trollers were quick to take on the matter. SFI, the leftist students’ union, intervened in the matter which created shame for KSU and Youth Congress. Now some SFI and CPM activists have paid the money owed by the Youth Congress activists. Former students who took part in an SFI event here managed to crowdfund the unsettled money and paid Dileep.
In the presence of Corporation councillor I.P. Binu, the money was handed over to Dileep in front of his canteen. SFI’s sweet revenge is an unexpected setback for Youth Congress.
