THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: DYFI has said that a BJP leader’s provocative words against director Adoor Gopalakrishnan were a disgrace to Kerala culture.

In a press release on Thursday, DYFI has stated, “Adoor is a big talent respected world over. What had annoyed BJP leaders were his statement criticising mob killings and conduction of mob trials amid forced chanting of Jai Shri Ram.

Adoor or any other person, for that matter, has the right to expression. This will be repeated again. The BJP need not make attempts to silence people using threats. Such threats of RSS will not work in Kerala.

We express our full support to Adoor. To silence people using threat is an all-time tactic of the RSS.

Kerala has the strength to overcome this. Kerala will stand united against the BJP’s impropriety,” said the press release from DYFI state secretariat.
