NEW DELHI: Today, the 26th of July, is being celebrated as Kargil Vijay Diwas by all Indians to commemorate the sacrifice made by Indian soldiers for protecting Kashmir from Pakistani attack. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has posted a picture of him visiting Kargil during the time of war.
Along with the picture, the Prime Minister noted that visiting Kashmir during the time of war was something unforgettable for him. His post read, “During the Kargil War in 1999, I had the opportunity to go to Kargil and show solidarity with our brave soldiers. This was the time when I was working for my Party in J&K as well as Himachal Pradesh. The visit to Kargil and interactions with soldiers are unforgettable.” The PM shared the pictures on his official Twitter page.
The pictures, which show Modi spending time with army personals and visiting injured soldiers at Kargil have already taken social media by storm. Kargil Vijay Diwas has been celebrated in various parts of the country today.
