rakhi-murder

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The remand report of the third accused in the murder case of a woman in Amboori contains key details. The report contradicts existing beliefs that the woman was killed for not backing off from her relationship with the prime accused. In the remand report submitted by police, it is said that they were married at a temple in Ernakulam in February.

After the marriage, they lived together for about four months. Meanwhile, Akhil’s family was in talks to find a partner for him and marriage was fixed with a Thiruvananthapuram native girl. Rakhi opposed this, which led to her murder.

Rakhi who returned home in Thiruvananthapuram was invited by Akhil to his house in Amboori. He picked her and then told her that he cannot marry her and asked her to withdraw from the relationship. Rakhi, who refused to accept it, was brought to his house in his friend’s car. After stopping the car, Akhil caught hold of her hands and soon his brother Rahul who was at the back seat strangulated her to death.

Akhil told media over the phone that he is not involved in the murder and he didn’t see Rakhi on the day she died. Meanwhile, the police have denied the claims of Rahul’s father that his son surrendered to police.
