THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As per the police, the accused used the vehicle of another soldier for murdering Rakhimol. The car used in the deed is owned by a soldier named Ratheesh from Thripparappu. The car, which was washed several times to destroy evidence, has been found by the police from Thripparappu.

Akhil used to take his friend Ratheesh’s car whenever he was around. Months before he took the car in the name of wedding engagement. On June 19, the car was taken by Akhil and his brother Rahul. They said that the car will be returned before June 27.

After Akhil returned to the army camp, it was his brother Rahul who returned the car. Rakhi disappeared since June 21.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the excess cleverness shown by the accused helped the police in cracking the case. Rakhi’s phone was unlocked using her fingerprint. But after her body was buried, the phone couldn’t be unlocked. So, her SIM card was inserted in a second-hand phone. Then messages about break up with Akhil and journey with another person to Chennai.

Akhil’s relatives attached the print out of these messages along with a complaint against police harassing them in the name of investigation. Subsequently, it was found that the phone was not Rakhi’s. The last tower location of the phone was Amboori. The police’s work became a lot easier as it was identified that the phone was bought by the accused from a shop in Amboori.
