KANNUR: CPM State Secretary Kanam Rajendran said on Saturday that he is not in anybody’s captivity when media persons pointed out to him the allegation that he is in CPM’s prison.

“Personal allegations against me are made by people with vested interests. There is no need of proofs for the fact that police had beaten Eldhos MLA. I had visited him. Further steps and reactions will be given after Collector’s report is obtained. It is not police officer but collector who is investigating the matter

I begot a child and he became an adult not now. Never-before allegations are raised against me now by people with vested interests,” Kanam said in response to the allegations that his son had committed corruption in Supplyco and the veteran CPI leader had been blackmailed into silence.

“Who is going to blackmail me at this old age?” he quipped.
