NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has warned Pakistan to refrain from activities intended to bring any change in the boundary between the two countries. Modi was speaking at a function for commemorating the heroes of the Kargil war.

The Prime Minister asserted that India has always taken a stand against terrorism and expects the same from its neighbors. However, Pakistan, on the other hand, has been encouraging terrorism in the name of obtaining Kashmir. He also accused Pakistan of declining former PM Vajpayee’s peace proposals during the Kargil war.

Modi also added how his government’s highest priority is to modernise the army and hence the defense sector is open to the private sector as part of ‘Make in India’. While promising that the government will work for the nation's protection, he also stated that special importance is given to the development of boundary villages. Modi concluded his speech by saying that it was the country and not the government that fought the war in Kargil and hence the Kargil victory must be seen as the victory of patience and discipline.
