MAHE: As Puducherry govt hiked the excise duty and additional excise duty of, the prices of liquor in the union territory increased significantly, ranging from Rs 400 to Rs 600 per case.
This means a bottle of top liquor brands will see a hike of Rs 80, while medium ranges have been increased by Rs 40 to 50. Cheaper liquor brand prices have been increased by Rs 30. Consumers will have to pay an additional Rs 10 for 180 ml quarter. Quarter price of the cheapest liquor in Mahe was Rs 10. Prices of beer items have been increased by Rs 15 for a tin.
