PATHANAMTHITTA: The group that robbed gold after tying up a staff here left the jewellery with the hard disk of CCTV camera. The police had arrested the main accused Akshay Patel who is also a staff in the jewellery. In the evening here on Sunday, 4 kg gold and Rs 13 lakhs were robbed from Krishna Jewellery near Mutharamman Kovil. A staff was injured during the incident. The police say that it was a goup of five robbers.

The main accused has been identified as Akshay Patel, a native of Maharashtra. It is learnt that Akshay, along with four other men, attacked Santhosh before tying him up and committing the crime. Meanwhile a customer entered the shop and Akshay Patel, the staff who aided the robbery, talked with the person. As per Santhosh, Akshay left with robbers.

After relieving from the knot, Santhosh informed others. He said that the robbers spoke in Marathi. The group came on an auto rickshaw and left in a Scorpio, taking the CCTV hard disk along.

Maharashtra native Suresh Sett is the owner of the jewellery. The police have started the investigation.
