THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The quarrel between Thilakan and Nedumudi Venu, two legendary actors of Malayalam cinema, came to an end on Sunday at Cotton Hill School, Thiruvananthapuram. The emotional moment took place during a function organised by the Kinginikootam Cancer Society at the school.
Dr. Soniya, Thilakan’s daughter, attended the function. She began her speech by apologising to Nedumudi Venu for her father’s harsh words. She also recollected a warm experience with Venu’s wife that shook her mind. According to her, the incident happened years back when she was also one among those who hated Venu. However, one day his wife came to her clinic and asked her not to hold any grudge against her family. Mrs. Venu also invited Soniya to her home which she immediately accepted.
According to Soniya, that moment was a turning point which made her realise the warmth of Nedumudi Venu and his family. On hearing these words, Venu came up to Soniya and consoled her, thereby marking an end to the infamous quarrel.
The quarrel began when Thilakan once accused Nedumudi Venu of stealing the characters meant for him in the films’ Bharatham’ and 'His Highness Abdulla.’ However, these claims were denied by director Sibi Malayil and writer Lohithadas.
