amboori-murder

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Akhil, the first accused in the Amboori murder case and a soldier of the Indian Army, was brought to his under construction house in Kattakada to take evidence. A tense situation broke out when the local residents thronged the area to have a glimpse of him. The residents blocked the vehicle which brought him demanding the arrest of his parents in the case. They were of the stand that evidences can be collected after the arrest of the two. The accused was taken out of the vehicle under heavy police protection. The locals hurled stones and abusive words against him. Following that, the police left the place with him. The investigating team was not able to find the rope used for the murder.

Akhil was taken into custody Saturday night. The Poovar police waited for him at the airport and as soon as he landed from the Indio flight at 8.15 pm, they took him into custody. Meantime, following suspicion on the role of his parents they will also be questioned.

The police is planning to get second accused Rahul into custody and then question all of them together including his parents. Police believe that this will help to avoid the differences in their statements. Rakhimol was murdered after a planning of three-weeks. Police had obtained information from the neighbours that Akhil’s father Maniyan had helped them in digging the pit to bury her body. When asked why the pit was dug, they said they wanted to plant some saplings.
