THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the Amboori murder case in which Call centre employee Rakhimol was killed and buried in at the backyard of an under-construction house at Kattakada Thattanmukku, the police will question the main accused and Amboori Thattanmukku Aswathy Bhavan resident Akhilesh (24) and his father Maniyan. They along with his brother Rahul will be questioned together as police also doubt the role of the latter in the murder.
After taking around Akhilesh, who is now in police custody, for the collection of evidence, the police will also seek the custody of second accused and Akhilesh’s brother Rahul. After collection of evidence is over, the father and sons will be questioned taken to a centre for interrogation.
This, the police believe, will help them clear many doubts and avoid the three, making contradictory statements. According to the police, Rakhimol was murdered after a careful scheming that spanned three weeks.
The locals and neighbours said a big pit to bury Rakhimol was dug with the knowledge of Manian. He had told some neighbours that the pit was being dug to plant an Areca nut sampling.
The police started doubting Manian after they heard him making public statements so as to mislead the investigation and create the impression that his sons were innocents, despite the police finding out that the murder was a handiwork of his sons and their friend Thattanmukku Adarsh Bhavan Adarsh (Kannan – 23).
Though Manian kept on saying that he had advised his sons to surrender, he never revealed their whereabouts to the police. All this led to police casting aspersions on the father of Akhilesh and Rahul.
