THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Political observer Adv Jayashankar has sniped at the decision of the government to go for an appeal against the Administrative Tribunal order, asking the government to reinstate DGP Jacob Thomas in the government service.
“The government won’t tolerate those who don’t know how to commit corruption, be it Jacob Thomas or Raju Narayana Swamy. A family traitor will always be a traitor. The State government will file an appeal in the high court against Central Administrative Tribunal’s order. If it fails there, it will go to the Supreme Court. If it fails there also, it will go to the International Court of Justice in Hague,” Jayashankar noted sarcastically on his Facebook page.
Following an allegation of corruption, Jacob Thomas was suspended from the government service some months ago. And, Jacob later approached the Central Administrative Services, stating that he was removed from the service as he raised voice against corruption.
Subsequently, the Tribunal found out that suspending an official under Central Service for such a long period without proper reason was against rules. In the light of this finding, the Tribunal ordered the re-induction of Jacob Thomas.
