THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPI has appointed a commission to study the row over putting up anti-Kanam posters in Alappuzha.

Chandran Unnithan, S Prakash and K S Ravi are the members of the Commission. The report will be submitted within one month.’

Meanwhile, Kanam came under fire in the CPI Alappuzha district meeting over the poster issue.

The criticism levelled by certain party leaders is that Kanam didn’t stand with the party workers of Ernakulam district Committee during the police lathi-charge on them.

“Kanam justified the police without considering the sentiments of the party workers. Filing cases against leaders who pasted the posters was unnecessary,” they complained.

The same criticism was raised in the district executive and district council, as well.

It added that what had come out with the poster row was the cancer of division that had affected the CPI.
