THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Police said Akhil and his brother Rahul, the first and second accused in the Rakhimol murder case, had decided to commit suicide by consuming poison.

This information was obtained when the police questioned Akhil. The police had recovered the poison bottle. Akhil and Rahul together murdered Rakhimol. Rahul was willing to take the responsibility of the murder as he didn’t want his brother Akhil to lose his job.

Akhil and Rahul took the decision to murder her on June 18. They later informed this to their friend Adarsh. They dug the pit on June 19. She was brought to Akhil’s house in Amboori on the night of June 21st and then murdered her. They first planned to dump her body in a dam or a reservoir but later decided to dump it somewhere in Tamil Nadu. But later dropped the idea on suspicion of being caught in the checkpost. Later buried the body in the pit behind Akhil’s house.

Akhil then told his parents that he is going to his work place. Rahul was in a state of depression after Akhil left. He was not able to sleep, had little food. When his parents asked the reason, he said that he was not well.

Akhil returned home on July 20 after his father informed him. He later left for his workplace. Akhil told police that his parents were not aware of his visit and that he and his brother thought of a suicide then.
