THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Amboori Rakhimol murder case main accused Akhilesh aka Akhil had plans for destroying the evidence after committing the murder.
To the astonishment of investigation officers, Akhil told them that he intended to shift the body to some faraway place. This murder plan appeared to have some semblance with the one in the Mohanlal film Drishyam.
He wanted to shift the body so that no evidence of the crime would be left after that. He bought salt and sprinkled all over the body so that the body will not smell foul.
His next plan was to shift the body to some faraway place with the help of some North Indian friends. With this intention, he returned to his workplace but kept off the duty.
However, Akhil’s plans were foiled when Rakhi’s father filed a habeas corpus petition in a court and the police started intensifying their search. Now, the police decision is to question Akhil’s father Manian after getting the police custody of his sons.
Police will give application for a week’s police custody of the brothers, who are now in judicial remand.
The police believe that a detailed interrogation will help them find Rakhimol’s clothes, mobile phone, slippers and bag; they also hope to find whether the father had any role in the murder.
