THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader Jyothikumar Chamakkala has questioned the logic behind appointing former Attingal MP A Sambath as Kerala’s envoy in New Delhi.

On his Facebook page, he writes: “Even America has just one Ambassador in New Delhi… then, what is the need for two ambassadors for this minuscule state Kerala?

As Sampath has been appointed as the envoy in New Delhi, call back the current Resident Commissioner Puneeth Kumar.”

“Can’t this political recruitment be because of the incompetence of the IAS officer?

Kerala people don’t have the liability to feed two officers… Let Puneeth be made the chairman of some Coconut oil cake development corporation.

It would also be better to appoint 18 defeated MP candidates in some 18 states or the national capital… They can lead a happy life at the government’s expense…

Once Sampath reaches Delhi, there will be a flood of Central projects to Kerala… The burden of one more officer is thrusted upon Kerala, where the people are still in tears and poverty though it has been one year since the occurrence of floods.

Flood cess can be collected and can be handed over to Ambassadors for their expense… Also, it is good to have ambassadors in Delhi as there is also Lavalin case…” he writes, making a sarcastic criticism against the government.
