KOCHI: Police have recently caught hold of Sadiq who transported the notorious drug ‘California 9’ drug from Goa to Kochi. It is learnt that he has transported the drug several times earlier before getting nabbed by the police.

According to police, Sadiq did the trafficking through train and mostly single-handedly. They are also investigating whether he has any partners in the crime. California 9 is a three doted LSD stamp with almost 360 micrograms lysergic acid. Sadiq, who was caught from Ponnarimangalam, had around 25 such stamps in his possession. He was caught in a raid which was conducted based on the information from a group called Narcotic Top Secret Group.

Police said that some African natives based on Goa are suspected to be the manufacturers of the drug. Lysergic acid, the most expensive drug found in India, when consumed can keep a person high for around 36 hours. However, it can be deadly if the dosage limit is exceeded. Sadiq, who is currently remanded, is said to have earned lakhs through drug transportation.
