THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police got some decisive statements in connection with the accident that killed media person K M Basheer early morning on Saturday.

NRI’s wife Wafa Feroz, who was in the killer car with IAS officer Sriram Venkitaraman, has told the police it was he who was driving the car at the time of the accident.

“Sriram had called me on my mobile phone and asked for my car. By 12:40 I reached Kowdiar with my car. Thereafter, it was he who had been behind the wheel. When Sriram was driving the car, it was at very high speed. I got acquainted with him through his Facebook page,” she told the police.

The police found out that the car had got involved in accidents earlier also. The black Vento car, which belongs to Wafa, was caught in CCTV cameras for over-speeding earlier three times. This was found out from the Check report of Motor Vehicle department. Wafa is a model and a business woman in the Gulf.
