THRISSUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that all are equal before law. Strict action will be taken if done wrong and no matter how high post he holds, he said. Post or status will not disrupt the police from doing their duty and stern action will be taken for bad behaviour, he said. Bad behaviour of some underestimates the achievements of the police. The police will not tolerate lock up assault and custodial death, he added.

He said this while inaugurating the passing out parade of the second batch of women police battalion who completed training in the Kerala Police Academy. ‘All are equal before law. There is no special prerogative in the eyes of the law. If done wrong, strict action will be taken against them. The post they hold will not hinder the police from doing their duty.

The chief minister had the other day stated that his government would do everything possible to bring to justice those responsible for the death of the journalist in Thiruvananthapuram. All issues related to the accident is seriously handled by the government, the chief minister had asserted yesterday.
