THIRUVANANTAHPURAM: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala hit out at IAS officer Sreeram Venkitaram in the case of killing a scribe in the capital city. He should be removed from service at the earliest and the police moves are damaging people's credibility, he said.

Chennithala said his blood samples were tested hours after the accident. The delay in examining his blood samples is a serious lapse of the police. The chief minister should examine Sreeram’s move to escape from the case using his high contacts.

A medical bulletin on him undergoing treatment at a private hospital should be released soon. Move to get out of the hospital after arrest and then granting bail are only undermining the credibility of the police. The procedures will be delayed till bail is granted, he said.
