THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There are indications that the blood test of the IAS officer Sriram Venkitaraman didn’t show traces of alcohol. The report of the test conducted at Thiruvananthapuram Medical Lab will be handed over tomorrow morning by the medical examiner.
The examiner had earlier said that the results might not be positive for alcohol content due to the delay in collecting blood samples.
Meanwhile, Sriram Venkitaraman has been shifted to MCH after completing the procedures and checks at district jail. Prior to this, he was taken to the residence of Judicial Magistrate. Sriram has submitted a bail plea at the CJM court.
Suspicions are there whether Sriram was given medication to remove alcohol traces in the private hospital where he initially admitted. If it cannot be proved that Sriram was drunk during the time of the accident, only an offence of non-culpable homicide would be charged against him, which is bailable.
