THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI mouthpiece ‘Janayugam’ has showered harsh criticisms against the state police department. The mouthpiece has pointed the lapse from the side of the police in the incident of killing a scribe by an IAS officer in a drunken state.

The police is continuously embarrassing the government. This is not the police policy of the LDF. The mouthpiece has demanded changes in the policy of the police. The police tried to rescue the accused in the accidental death of the scribe, alleged the mouthpiece.

Not the actions Kerala is expecting is seen from the side of the police. Creating loopholes for the IAS officer to escape in the death of a journalist and showing indifference in the proceedings are seen not only in this incident.

The article alleged that the custodial deaths, indifferences, unjust actions by some are embarrassing the entire police force and tarnishing the image of the government.

The government was blamed in the Nedumkandam custodial death case. The lathicharge towards the CPI march in Kochi had stoked a controversy. Delay in taking action against police officials for serious dereliction of duty in the report of the collector was also criticised.
