THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is no special consideration for IAS officer Sreeram Venkitaraman, accused of killing a scribe with a car under the influence of alcohol, undergoing treatment at the medical college hospital, said Health Minister K K Shailaja. He need to get only the consideration an ordinary man gets. The minister said that she has not spoken to the doctors of the hospital but had directed to convene the medical board and assess things.
Meantime, the officer has been shifted to multi-speciality ICU of the medical college hospital. The authorities have not revealed the details of his health condition. He was taken to the jail ward last night at 9.30 pm but at 11 pm, he was shifted to surgical ICU.
He was undergoing treatment at KIMS Hospital after remanded. The magistrate ordered to shift him to the jail citing no serious health issues to continue in the hospital. The medical report of the hospital also mentioned no serious health issues. Sreeram was shifted on a stretcher, his mouth covered with a mask and was fully covered.
Sreeram, who was taken to Poojappura district jail was examined by Dr Rajesh, medical officer of central jail. He directed to take him to medical college hospital as he had high blood pressure and minor injuries on his hand and head. Following that, he was taken to the medical college hospital with the letter of district jail authorities.
