KOTTAYAM: Even a Pink police woman who reached for duty at Pala bus stand had to enter into a tussle with a drunk youth.

Trouble began after the youth tried to take snaps of the police woman. Though he was later taken into custody, he was let off on station bail.

In the full public view, the youth tried to take the photo of the woman officer and police vehicle. Though this was initially ignored, when he brought the camera close to her face, another woman police office there snatched the phone from him.

But the youth was not ready to give up and tried to retrieve the phone from the woman cop. Though she warned him not to touch her, the youth lunged at her to snatch the phone.

Later when the woman police SI went to click his photo, he posed for her. Soon, the Pala police reached the spot and took him to the station. He was later let off after being charged with petty case.

Meanwhile, an inquiry has been initiated against officials who allowed the accused, who humiliated the woman officer, to go on station bail. A few nearby merchants who had taken the video of the incident on their mobile phone have also submitted the video to the police officers who are looking into the case.
