NEW DELHI: She was one of the most popular leaders in Indian politics. A strong woman presence in the BJP. Unfortunately, she is not anymore. Sushma Swaraj, born on Feb14, 1952 entered into politics through student politics.

Sushma was lauded several times for her performance as a minister. A graduate in law, she had participated in protests against emergency. When became a part of the Haryana Assembly in 1977, she was the youngest minister. She was part of BJP ever since it was formed in 1980.

Her last Twitter post was the one that thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the government’s move on Kashmir stating that she was waiting for this day in her lifetime.
