THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the wake of heavy rains lashing the state, the government has sought the help of national disaster response force. The decision was taken at the meet convened by the chief minister. Ten units of the force will be called. 1385 people have been shifted to relief camps. So far, 29 camps have been opened.

Meantime, NDRF team is active in relief measures in Munnar and Nilambur. The office of the chief minister informed that they will take steps to obtain the service of the force in all districts except Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam. The government has said that at present, there is no need to worry. The district administration has been advised to be vigilant. Red alert has been sounded in four districts of the state. Orange alert has been sounded in other districts except Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam.

Heavy rains have caused floods in Nilambur. Nilambur town and surrounding areas have been submerged. People have been shifted to safer places following floods. The first floor of houses and shops are under water in Nilambur.
