Kerala is again under the threat of massive floods but the district and state administrations are bracing up to give timely information to the people and effectively take up rescue and relief measures, after taking lessons from the past flood experiences.
But without taking these preparedness at face value, certain netizens are propagating fake and false messages about the current flood situations. Ernakulam Collector Suhas S, on his official FB page, has requested people to neglect such messages and stop sharing such wicked messages
Translation of his instructions on his official FB page
1) Only share confirmed information or messages. Call up verify date, time and share after clearly marking ‘verified’.
2) Examine, cross-check to avoid photos of old flood situations getting shared
3) Wrong information will negatively affect people’s life. So be careful.
4) Only those who have the expertise should go out for rescue operations. Inexperienced persons will invite more trouble.
5) Be alert and obey instructions of government officials
