KOCHI: The Kochi International Airport, which was shut down due to incessant rain, will start functioning from Sunday noon onwards. An Air India Official has confirmed the news saying, "As per the latest update from CIAL, the airport will resume operations by 12.30pm (IST) on Sunday."
The official added, "Our first arrival into Kochi will be IX 442 from Muscat. It is expected to land at Kochi airport by 4.30pm." Earlier on Saturday, a detailed inspection was conducted by airport authorities regarding the condition of the airfield. The official added that the conditions were satisfactory and the airport will start service by Sunday noon.
Earlier, several flights from the Kochi airport were rescheduled to function from the Thiruvanathapuram airport following heavy rain.
