KOZHIKODE: In the wake of second onslaught of floods in Kerala, the government has opened 1221 relief camps in different parts of Kerala. As many as 145928 people are living in these camps.

Meanwhile, volunteers have informed through social media that there is severe shortage of essentials goods in these relief camps.

At Ramanattukara, Lorries are standing ready to transport commodities but there is no sufficient loads to be carted out .

Volunteers have sought generous minds to donate commodities in whatever possible way to the relief camps. Social worker Shimna Aseez, on her Facebookpage, has asked people to send items to the camp opened at Malappuram Manjeri Boys School.

There are also shortages of essential commodities in the collection centre started in Kalamassery CUSAT camp under Ernakulam district administration.

The relief camps were opened on Friday.
